To restrict LTE/5G selection, choose the control for the part you want to fix: allowed bands, operator, or one observed cell. To undo a restriction, clear that same control; clearing a band list does not remove an AT cell lock.
Choose the setting for the required restriction
| Control | What it selects | What it cannot promise |
|---|---|---|
| band / nr-band | Allowed LTE / NR band numbers | One tower, sector or CA combination |
| operator | PLMN (MCC + MNC) where supported | A faster cell within that operator |
| Modem-specific cell lock | Preferred channel / physical cell | Permanent tower attachment on every modem |
Read the modem’s supported controls before applying a restriction:
/interface/lte/print detail
/interface/lte/show-capabilities lte1
/interface/lte/monitor lte1 onceCheck band-selection, cell-scan, at-chat, supported RAT modes, lte-bands and nr-bands where exposed. If a capability is absent or unsupported, stop and consult the modem’s current product documentation. RouterOS cannot add a radio band the hardware lacks.
Operator and automatic selection
If an operator lock prevents registration on an available permitted network, restore automatic operator selection with the command below. A deliberate operator lock uses the full MCC+MNC PLMN; confirm that the SIM may register there.
An empty operator property restores automatic operator selection on supported modems. It does not clear an existing band restriction or a separate AT-command cell lock.
/interface/lte/set lte1 operator=""For band settings and automatic-band restoration, use the band-lock commands. For one measured EARFCN/PCI pair, use the modem-specific LTE cell-lock commands.
