Online MTR
Collect repeated path observations to a public destination. Compare the destination’s result with intermediate hops and keep each probe’s source visible.
Global network tests
Choose public targets and measurement locations. Tests use Globalping; its measurement identifiers and results are publicly retrievable through its API.
No test has been started.
Hostnames are resolved and a public address is selected before an active test. The selected address is then tested from each location; this does not compare location-dependent DNS answers. Use the DNS test for that question.
Intermediate loss is not automatically end-to-end loss
A router can forward traffic normally while limiting replies addressed to itself. If a middle hop reports loss but later hops and the destination respond consistently, that pattern alone does not establish forwarding loss. Missing hops and unavailable measurements remain distinct from zero loss.
Compare like observations
Check the target IP, address family, source and sample time. A short test may miss intermittent behavior, and an ICMP observation does not measure every application protocol. Use the raw measurement details when the summary does not explain a difference.
