Online Ping

Check whether a public address responds from the locations you choose. Each source has its own result; a reply is evidence of reachability from that probe at that time.

Global network tests

Choose public targets and measurement locations. Tests use Globalping; its measurement identifiers and results are publicly retrievable through its API.

Locations

At most five probes in total. Availability can change; results identify the actual source and address family.

Select measurement locations.

No test has been started.

Hostnames are resolved and a public address is selected before an active test. The selected address is then tested from each location; this does not compare location-dependent DNS answers. Use the DNS test for that question.

Read reachability separately from application health

A ping reply confirms an ICMP exchange, not that a website, VPN or mail service is working. A missing reply may reflect filtering or rate limiting. Compare the actual resolved address, address family and source before attributing a difference to the destination.

Round-trip time is a sample

The result includes both directions of travel and the probe’s measurement conditions. Compare repeated observations deliberately rather than treating one sample as a service-level guarantee. No reply is shown as missing, never as zero milliseconds.
