TXT record checker

Enter the full record name and, optionally, the exact TXT value supplied by your service. The checker lists the returned records and distinguishes a matching value from a different token.

Queries go directly from your browser to Google Public DNS and Cloudflare. Use public DNS names only. Read how queries are handled.

A public-looking split-DNS name may still be confidential. Do not paste internal-only names.

Query

Paste the exact value supplied by the service. Leave blank to list TXT records.

Results

Enter a query and press Check TXT records.

Check the right name and value

Use the record owner supplied by the service. A TXT record at example.com is not the same as one at www.example.com or another verification label. For Google site verification, a value commonly begins with google-site-verification=. The entire value must match the token requested for that verification; another token with the same prefix is not a substitute.

Several TXT records can be normal

One domain may publish verification records for several services or accounts alongside an SPF record. Do not delete unrelated entries simply because this checker finds more than one. The tool checks each separate TXT record rather than joining all returned strings together.

Quoted segments and spaces

DNS tools often display a TXT value inside quotes. A single TXT record can contain several character-strings; this tool reconstructs those segments without inserting extra spaces. Separate records remain separate. Literal spaces, letter case and punctuation in the actual value are preserved. Compare the value, not just its visible prefix.

Found here, but verification still fails?

Confirm the service is asking for this exact record name and token, and complete the verification step in that service. Public DNS visibility does not prove ownership of a particular Google account. The service may also be using a different cached observation. Keep required verification records in place after success unless that service explicitly instructs otherwise.
